Two Thorough Surveys, Professional, Detailed, and Highly Recommended
I have instructed Ross Richards at Surveying People for two separate RICS surveys on two different properties, and on both occasions he delivered an exceptional level of service.

First Survey – RICS Level 3 Building Survey ( Kenmore Avenue, Harrow)
Ross carried out a comprehensive Level 3 Building Survey that identified significant structural issues, including unusual settlement cracking, inadequate chimney flue supports, and defects in a loft conversion. His report was detailed, well-structured, and easy to understand. He used a drone to inspect the roof and chimney, provided extensive photographic evidence, and gave clear recommendations for further investigation. His findings were instrumental in helping me make an informed decision about a complex property. He was also available for a follow-up call to discuss his findings in depth.
Second Survey – RICS Level 2 Home Survey (Waverley Road, Harrow)
Ross then carried out a Level 2 survey on a different property, where he identified spray foam insulation, widespread damp, an end-of-life roof, failed windows, outdated electrics, and possible asbestos. Once again, his report was thorough, concise, and practical, with clear condition ratings and prioritised recommendations.

I've had two surveys conducted by Surveying People, the first led to a decision not to proceed on a property, but gave me the confidence to rebook.

The inclusive drone surveys offer an added extra to the package.  The photos achieved give a thorough view of the state of the pitched and flat roof areas of the property.  The surveys are detailed and carefully described.

The nominally unlimited follow up calls are a huge value add.  Ross clearly has a lot of knowledge and experience and articulates the reasons, concerns and possible solutions for the condition of the property.

Areas for improvement would be the communication and administration.  The first survey was delivered on time, but the second took several days longer.  This was fair to a degree as it was nearly 50% longer, but it would have been helpful to set expectations and be informed.

I highly recommend Ross Richards, who recently carried out a Level 3 Homebuyer Survey for me, including complimentary drone footage of the flat roof. His inspection identified several significant defects — most notably progressive structural movement that wasn’t apparent during my viewing but became unmistakably clear in the photographs Ross captured a few weeks later. The drone imagery of the flat roof was particularly valuable, revealing that it required a full replacement and ultimately saving me from considerable future cost and disruption. The overall service was also extremely cost‑effective compared with other surveyors I approached, many of whom quoted nearly double for a similar scope.
